While Delta has a mature and much better managed merger, UAL is just beginning to hit its stride operationally and real growth is on the horizon. Incremental aircraft orders for growth seem to be the norm. This past year we’ve placed orders for more 787s, 777s, 737max, and purchased used 767s and A329/320s.

Also I've spent hours sifting through the salary survey threads...and it seems like UAL pilots aren't really making more? I'm looking mostly at the 5-6+ year captain data, and don't really care what happens before then. A lot of UAL captains making $300k-400k with around 300-400 block hours vs. Frontier captains making $500k-600k at 750 block ...WB upgrades are projected around 3-5yrs and beat UPS/FX pay with gateway cities positive space travel into CVG. Sorry to chime in on UAL, but Hawaiian won’t top UPS in pay. Maybe hourly, but UPS goes to $376 in SEP and they get 13 periods of 75 hours not 12. For example: a UAL pilot that is furloughed could be 10 years senior to a CAL pilot that is not furloughed. The CAL pilot would not lose his job or be furloughed. He is protected. You'll have to dig into the ALPA merger stuff.
