I haven't anointed a single ring since blight league. I don't think they're useless, they're just not necessary. I hardly run blighted maps but when I do I run a build that's really good at them so I don't need anoints. I just place cold and physical slowing fields everywhere and do the damage myself.Range. The thing about towers is, they stop working when they are more than a little bit off your screen. So if you think you can spam towers on one side of your blighted map and hold the other side yourself, that will actually not work at all. The monsters will walk straight through while your towers are unloaded.
Here’s my recommendation. Ring 1: anoint meteor towers leave scorched ground Ring 2: anoint chilling towers freeze enemies for .2 seconds, this is a silver oil + opalescent. The idea is that the scorched ground meteors will kill anything including proximity shield mobs and the chilling towers (level 3) freeze stuff like crazy.
