I’ve burned a lot of Accurate 4064 in the .22-250 and .243 Winchester. An additional 100 fps of velocity might be squeezed from other powders in the .22-250, but you’d be hard-pressed to improve accuracy. Five loads with A-4064 and 40-, 50- and 55-grain bullets in the .22-250 averaged .68 inch for five-shot groups.

My last was a Rem 700 VSF. With 38.4 grs of H-380 Rem 9 1/2M and a Hornady case at .020 off lands my accuracy was .35 MOA. Great load. We machined a 22" 22-250 with an 8 twist for my DTA. I got 3300 FPS out of an 80 grain Sierra using Superformance and CFE223. We backed it down to 3150 and getting 1/4" groups at 100 yards with the Superformance because I want to use it in comps and need to respect the 3100-3200 FPS speed limit.Q-harley · #12 · Jan 4, 2016.
