Kawasaki vulcan 800 problems.
New to the forum and needing some advice. I recently purchased a 99 Vulcan 800 Classic for the wife. The problem I am having is that on cold start it stalls as soon as soon as you put it in 1st gear and the bike starts moving. It usually takes several attempts at revving really high on the throttle to finally get it going so that it doesn't stall.

It runs good at highway speeds but when getting going it sometimes hesitates/stumbles when I give it just a little throttle. It is worse when cold but still sometimes does it when warm too.3. Generally there is a switch that expands and contracts with heat, thus making the necessary "contact" allowing fan to operate. 4. Inspect for any leakage around fan. 5. A ''sticky" thermostat, that sticks open will let the bike run cool, ergo, the fan won't come on. 6.Diagnose the issue using the tests in the manual. The bike had not been taken care of by the PO, and some TLC on my part has gotten it running much better/smoother. Jan 12, 2010 · I've been having trouble getting the carburetor dialed in on my Vulcan 800. At this point, I'm not sure if my thoughts were correct, or if something else is causing the problem. It's a '99 VN800A with Cobra exhaust. I did the Russian Wolf EPA mod, and also drilled out the plug covering the air idle mixture screw. Vulcan 800 Throttle Cable Replacement ...
