2020. I have a 2021 Legion 7i now but I did have a 2020 Legion 7i and it did have a hinge failure. The new ones are fine. The 2021 L7 series has the improved hinge design that fixed the previous weak hinge problem. Unless you have the 2020 model, otherwise, your L7 shouldn’t have the hinge issue. You need to remove the hinge assembly and remove the cables, in the little cavity where the cables nest inside the hinge, there's a screw to remove the metal hinge cover thing.
